Who you are booking with

U2 Travel & Yachting Agency is a travel agency registered in Turkey and licensed by TÜRSAB, the Turkish travel agencies association. We have worked from the same seafront office in Turgutreis since 2011.

When you book a tour, a transfer or a boat with us, your contract is with us — not with the hotel that passed on your name, not with the driver who collects you, and not with an online marketplace. We arrange and operate the trip, and we are the people you come back to if something is wrong.

How a booking is confirmed

There is no checkout on this website and nothing here reserves itself. You tell us what you want by phone or WhatsApp, we check the boat, the vehicle or the seat, and we come back to you. A booking exists only once we have confirmed it to you directly.

Before you pay anything we will confirm the date, the pickup point and time, how many of you are coming and the ages of any children, the total price and the currency. If any of that is wrong, tell us then rather than on the morning.

We will tell you how and when to pay when we confirm. This website does not take card details and cannot take them — anyone asking you for card numbers through a form on a site claiming to be us is not us.

Prices

Prices on this site are per person unless the page says otherwise, and they include everything listed as included on that page. We quote in pounds, euros or Turkish lira; the currency we confirm is the currency you pay in, and we do not convert between them at a rate of our own.

The price we confirm at booking is the price you pay. Optional extras — an entrance ticket you may or may not want, drinks on the boat — are shown separately, marked clearly as optional, and are never added unless you ask for them. Where a tour is priced on enquiry it is because the price genuinely depends on the group, the boat or the season, and we would rather quote you properly than publish a number we cannot hold.

If you cancel or change a booking

Cancellation terms depend on what you have booked. A seat on a scheduled excursion, a private car and guide for the day, and a whole boat with a crew are three different commitments, so we agree the terms with you in writing when we confirm the booking, before you pay. If this matters to you, ask before you book — we will give you a straight answer.

Airport transfers are the one case where the terms are fixed. A transfer cancelled at least four hours before your flight time is refunded in full, a transfer can be booked up to one hour before the flight, and if a flight is delayed by more than three hours we may not be able to hold the same vehicle for you — we will send the next one available.

If you need to move a date rather than cancel, ask. On a scheduled excursion we can usually do it if there is space and there is time to tell the operator, and it is always worth asking before you cancel outright.

Weather, and cancellations by us

Boat trips are cancelled for weather more often than visitors expect on this coast. The meltemi blows hard through the middle of summer, and the decision is the skipper's, taken on the morning, on safety grounds. We will not run a boat we would not put our own family on.

If we cancel a trip, you are offered another date or your money back. That is the whole policy, and it applies whether the cause is weather, a road closure, a cancelled ferry or a mechanical problem.

If a single stop has to be dropped from a published itinerary on the day — a site closes, a sea state makes a bay unusable — we will tell you before you set off wherever we possibly can, and the rest of the day runs as planned.

Insurance

Our tours and transfers carry the passenger accident insurance a licensed Turkish agency is required to hold, and every seat in our transfer vehicles is covered. That is not travel insurance and it is not medical cover.

Your own travel insurance is your responsibility, and it is worth reading it before you book rather than after. Boat trips, quad bikes, diving and paragliding are excluded or loaded by many UK policies, and a day trip to a Greek island takes you out of Turkey and into the European Union, which some policies treat as a separate destination.

Passports and visas for the Greek islands

The day trips to Kos, Rhodes, Symi and Kalymnos are international travel by ferry. You need the valid passport you entered Turkey on, and we need its details in advance, because tickets and boarding cards are issued the day before and collected from an office by the harbour. Bring the passport itself on the day — a photograph of it is no use at the border. Be at the harbour an hour before departure, and book early: the ferries carry a limited number of passengers and they do sell out.

Visas are not included in the price, and getting yours right is your responsibility. Greece is in the Schengen area. The Greek door-visa scheme for the eastern Aegean islands applies to holders of Turkish passports only. If you hold a passport that requires a Schengen visa — Russian, Ukrainian and Kazakh among many others — you must already have that visa before you travel. We cannot obtain one for you, and no agency in Bodrum can obtain one for you on the day.

Your permitted stay in Turkey and your permitted stay in the Schengen area are counted separately, so a day in Kos does not reset your Turkish clock. If you are refused boarding or refused entry because of your travel documents, the ferry ticket and the trip cannot be refunded.

Fitness, mobility and children

Some of what we sell does not suit everyone, and we would rather say so here than at the harbour. Ephesus and Pamukkale are long walks on uneven ancient stone in real heat. Boats are boarded from a quay or a gangway, sometimes with a step down and a hand from the crew. Jeep, quad and rafting trips are physical. The Turkish bath has a minimum age of seven and is not suitable if you are pregnant or have a back, neck or respiratory condition.

Tell us before you book about wheelchair use, limited mobility, pregnancy, a heart condition, recent surgery, allergies or anything else that might matter on a long day out. We will tell you honestly whether the tour works for you, and if it does not, we will suggest one that does. Give us children's ages accurately as well: child prices and free places depend on them, and so does whether a trip is suitable at all.

If something goes wrong

Tell us on the day, while we can still do something about it. The numbers below are answered by our own office in Turgutreis, not by a call centre in another country, and most problems on a day tour can be fixed within the hour if we hear about them.

If it cannot be resolved on the day, contact us afterwards with your booking details and what happened, and we will look into it and reply.

Governing law

These terms, and any booking made under them, are governed by Turkish law and subject to the Turkish courts. If you booked as a consumer, that does not take away the protection you have under the consumer law of the country you live in.

Getting hold of us

The office in Turgutreis answers the phone, in English, Russian, Turkish and German. WhatsApp reaches the same people and is usually quicker. We are a small agency, so you will be talking to someone who knows your booking.
